Frequently Asked Questions
You have questions about working with us? We have answers. Browse our FAQs below for the basics, but the real magic happens when we chat. Book a quick call to discover how we can turn your travel "wish list" into a reality.
The Basics
How are hotel bookings free? How do you make money?
Our partner hotels pay us our commission, the same way they'd pay a third party site like Expedia. The difference? Instead of that money disappearing to a tech giant, when you work with us it gets reinvested into your experience. It becomes your VIP perks like a room upgrade or welcome amenity, and gains you a trusted travel partner who knows you and your trip personally. You pay the same price you'd find online, get our personal recommendations and guidance and get a better trip!
What type of VIP perks do I get working with igc travel?
As Fora advisors, we're members of exclusive programs like Virtuoso, Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Preferred Hotels and Resorts, Rosewood Elite and more. We unlock benefits you simply can't get by booking on your own like:
• Complimentary daily breakfast for two
• Room upgrades when available
• Hotel or spa credits (typically valued at $100)
• Welcome amenity on arrival
• Early check-in & late checkout when available
Can I still earn hotel loyalty points?
Yes, you can still earn points and elite night credits through your loyalty program (Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, etc.) when booking through us. You get the VIP perks on top of your points, not instead of them. It's essentially stacking benefits!
How is working with igc travel different from Amex Travel or Chase?
Those platforms offer perks too, but there's no human advocating for you. We have real relationships with hotel teams — which means we can push for the best room in your category, flag that you're celebrating something special, or make sure you're actually treated like a VIP when you arrive. We also offer:
• Tailored recommendations based on your travel style, not an algorithm
• Access to "fully booked" restaurants, private tours, and off-menu experiences
• A centralized itinerary covering flights, transfers, hotels, and activities
• Vetted intel from our travels and a global advisor community with real-time feedback
Working Together
Is using a travel advisor really worth it?
Short answer: YES, especially when it's In Good Company Travel!
Working with us you get a team of real people who know you, know the properties, and are actively advocating for you — before you leave and while you're there. That's something no algorithm, credit card portal, or influencer blog can replicate.
Our hotel bookings are always complimentary, meaning you pay the same rate you'd find on Expedia or Google, but you arrive as an inner circle VIP. Think room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, spa credits, and a welcome amenity. Perks a booking site simply can't offer. For full itinerary planning, we charge a fee that covers the time and care that goes into creating a personalized trip, but clients consistently tell us it pays for itself in time saved, mistakes avoided, and experiences they never would have found on their own. One client loved working with us so much, she asked if we could plan her wedding too!
What kinds of trips do you plan for your clients?
Anything from your next family vacation to a romantic getaway or a "just because" celebration, we've booked clients on every continent (except Antarctica – we're coming for you). We have deep experience in Europe and the Caribbean, but genuinely love building any itinerary that gets our clients excited.
Planning a group trip, wedding, or corporate incentive travel? We gather the best discounted rates for large group logistics and work directly with the property to ensure you have a seamless experience.
Do you book Airbnb or points hotels?
If we’re building your full itinerary, we’re happy to mix in points-based stays alongside our partner hotels. However, we don't handle trips that are strictly Airbnb or points-only because our real magic happens through our personal connections. Beyond our access to VIP perks, we rely on a global network of fellow advisors for real-time feedback and maintain direct relationships with hotel management to look out for you. These "boots-on-the-ground" connections allow us to advocate for you in a way a booking site never could. We want to make sure every stay is one where we have the ability to ensure you're treated like a top priority.
Do you charge planning fees?
Hotel-only bookings are always complimentary. For full itinerary planning, where we're coordinating daily excursions, transfers, reservations, and multi-destination logistics, we charge a planning fee that we'll outline clearly upfront. No surprises, ever.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better for the most options and best pricing, but we'll always do our best regardless of your timeline. We move fast and service busy clients, so we can always find a solution!
